Meet the Founders

Hello! Our names are Maitland and Rhys and we are the co-founders of MELT Pilates.

We created our hot mat Pilates and yoga studio with a clear purpose: to build an inclusive space where everyone could feel comfortable exploring movement, strength and mindfulness. Rhys, having personally experienced feeling out of place in studios that leaned heavily towards a more feminine atmosphere, was inspired to help redefine the experience. Together, we set out to shift the narrative by offering classes that are challenging, dynamic and welcoming to all. Our vision for MELT is to foster a strong sense of community while breaking down stereotypes around who Pilates and yoga are for, making these powerful practices accessible, inspiring and inviting for every body.

    Co - Founder & Head Trainer

    Maitland is known for her dynamic and challenging classes that inspire strength, focus and transformation. With a deep commitment to her clients’ personal growth, she creates a supportive and empowering environment where every individual feels seen and encouraged. Maitland’s energy goes beyond the studio, she’s driven by a genuine desire to connect with her community, building strong relationships and fostering a sense of belonging through movement.

    Pilates Instructor

    With infectious energy and a smile that lights up the room, Lana brings fierce intensity and endless creativity to every class. Expect high vibes, fiery flows, and a whole lot of fun. Her classes are no joke, you’ll leave feeling stronger, empowered, and already counting down the days until your next sweat with her.

    Piltes Instructor

    Candice is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Her classes are uplifting, full of encouragement, and packed with deep, challenging movement that will leave you stronger in every way. She’s got a heart of gold, a fire in her teaching, and a passion for helping you push past your limits, with a smile on her face the whole way.

    Yoga Instructor

    Yoga is a constant in Karina’s life, grounding and nourishing her body, mind, and soul, this deep connection shapes her teaching. Karina creates a supportive space where every client feels encouraged to move in a way that honours their body’s unique needs. Her classes are designed to help others feel more connected to their inner selves and leave feeling refreshed and rebalanced. Karina’s favourite style to teach is Vinyasa Flow - a dynamic, breath-led practice that moves with energy and intention before settling into stillness.
